Benefice 3 Crosses
Sunday 23rd April,                                                                             Easter 3
Welcome to our weekly newsletter

Alleluia, Christ is risen….
…… He is risen indeed, Alleluia!
EasterFlowers
Jesus met, cheered and commissioned his frail imperfect disciples.
He has hope in us and calls us to prayer and service in his grace.

Come join together, rejoice and worship.
The Collect, the prayer for the week
  Almighty Father,
who in your great mercy gladdened the disciples
with the sight of the risen Lord:
give us such knowledge of his presence with us,
that we may be strengthened and sustained by his risen life
  and serve you continually in righteousness and truth;
through Jesus Christ your Son our Lord,
who is alive and reigns with you,
in the unity of the Holy Spirit,
one God, now and for ever.

Goring Chamber Choir Concert – Christ is Risen
GCC-ChristIsRisen
This Saturday, 22nd April, at 3pm the Goring Chamber Choir will be singing a concert programme of Easter music by Italian and English composers. Groups of pieces by contemporary composers include Sascha Johnson Manning's 'The peacemakers' in response to the war in the world, and a setting of the spiritual Were you there? by Malcolm Archer. Randall Thompson's triumphant Alleluia is a total contrast to Monteverdi's touching duet Venite for two sopranos.
Music by Palestrina, Byrd, Elgar, William Harris and Richard Shephard shares the joy of the season with the quiet repose of Casciolini's Mass in A minor. Tickets are £12 (free for under 18’s) and obtainable from Inspiration, Goring, or from a choir member, or on the door.

Do come along and help lead the singing!
There will also be a coronation Come and Sing event in St Thomas’ at 5pm.

Great Big Green Day, Saturday 17 June
An exciting day is planned and happening to inspire us with how we can each make a difference.
The church is bringing together lots of other groups and organisations.
There are several jobs where we need help on the day.
Please offer your services to Ben. Thank you.
Daily Prayer will be taking place as usual. Why not join in one day? We listen to the Bible and pray for our world and church.
Monday: 8.30am Goring,
Tuesday and Thursday: 8.30am Streatley.
Friday: 9am Goring.

We are asked to pray

  • For preparations for the Coronation weekend and for each of us as we pray and reflect on who we are called to serve and how to live in God’s way as citizens.
  • For us to be peacemakers.
