Wider Musical Community

Christingle
We are aware that many families are often too busy to commit to being involved on a weekly basis.  Christmas is a special time when we look for opportunities to invite the wider community to events such as our annual Christingle Service. We also invite extra young trebles to join our choir in the run up to Christmas so they can experience choral singing first-hand and participate in our Carol Services when the Church is packed to capacity.

FaureRequiemWorkshop
An example of our regular ‘Come and Sing’ events was a workshop and performance of Faure’s Requiem. It was attended by 65 participants from the wider community. Participants were rehearsed during the afternoon and following a tea gave an open performance to an appreciative audience.

Sing For the KingPictured right is an event in celebration of the coronation of King Charles III, where singers came together to "Sing for the King". The music was very much on a coronation theme and included Zadok the Priest and Vaughan Williams setting of the "Old Hundredth" - All people that on earth do dwell - first sung at the coronation of Queen Elizabeth II in 1953.
